It’s funny to think that Cindy Crawford, who revealed in an interview released yesterday for her upcoming 50 birthday later this month and her vigorous retirement from modeling, was being teased when she was younger for her now iconic dot above her lip and was considering about having it removed. Thankfully her mother talked her out of it and the rest is supermodel history. Out of the blue she created an entire fashion movement based on a well-placed beauty mark, that marked the entire era of 90s’.

Holding onto her interview to United Airlines a few days ago she made the surprising statement that looking back at her career she has done enough modeling for a lifetime and that retirement might occur in the near future. “I feel like I’m allowing that to have been great, and I’m celebrating it. And I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK,” she said in the February issue of United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine. “I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do?” She continued, “I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to. Crawford’s last big modeling job was for Balmain SS16, where she teamed up with Naomi Cambell and Claudia Schiffer. “Maybe not say goodbye,” she explained, “but move on.”
